quick tip: soften hard bread
It can be most frustrating, when you go to grab a fresh loaf or baguette of bread to serve with dinner, but yet it’s hardened more quickly than you anticipated?
Never fear, there is a way around this.
Just like water will crisp up celery, and keep avocados from turning brown… water will soften bread that has hardened before its time.
All you need to do is run the entire uncut loaf under cold water. You can let the loaf sit in order to absorb the water, and then bake it as you would normally.
My favorite way is to slice across, place pats of butter in between each slice, and wrap the whole thing in tin foil, then set in the oven for 350 - 400 until butter is melted, about 10 - 15 minutes.
