you need this: iron horse
Who doesn’t love a good glass of bubbles? I know it’s pretty much all I want to drink if I’ve got the choice.
But if you aren’t a fan, it’s likely because you’ve only had the type of bubbles served during toasts, or hosted work dinners. Those tend to be overly sweet and headache inducing.
To be clear. Those are not the kinds of bubbles I want to drink.
I do, however, enjoy trying different kinds, which is how I found the worlds best bubbles ever.
Exterior scene: Disney’s california adventure park. Wine country trattoria. Weather freezing. Family meal with five extremely young kids and four parents.
The food was completely horrible, and we had not planned on eating outside, in the freezing cold with a random breeze that started up.
The only bright side, was that I decided to try a random champagne aptly called fairy tale cuvee, from a winery I had never heard of… iron horse.
You guys!!! This was seriously the best glass of bubbles ever. It’s a white to blush rose depending on the vintage, and it’s just absolutely perfect. It was the only thing I drank the rest of our trip, and by the end, it was all my sister in law was drinking as well.
And then, we returned home to learn that fairy tale is only sold on disney properties. And then I researched iron horse, and found that they had a similarly marketable sparkling rose under the name wedding cuvee, and that was sold at a french market down the street from our home… guess who went straight there and bought a 1/2 case right out the gate? I’m not even mad about it.
And you guys?!?! It was just as good (well almost as good).
Since iron horse is not always easy to find, and since the winery itself offers special wines to wine club members (ie fairy tale, commander’s palace, etc.), I am a card carrying member who receives their bubbles year round.
Even if you don’t want to join a wine club, you definitely need to check out where iron horse bubbles are sold near you (our local bev mo carries wedding cuvee) and get a bottle to try!
