Sometimes you just want an upscale grilled cheese sandwich. And what is more upscale than the grilled cubano?
Loaded with mojo pork, honey baked ham, homemade dill pickles, melty havarti cheese, cuban spiced garlic butter, and yellow mustard… it’s a classic that can’t be beat.
Ingredients:
4 Tbsp butter, brought to room temp
1 tsp trader joe’s cuban garlic spice
ciabatta loaf, cut into sandwich portions
yellow mustard
shredded mojo pork
2 slices honey baked ham
3 slices dill pickle
2 slices of havartii
Directions:
Mix together butter and spice blend.
Spread the inside of the ciabatta bread with mustard on both sides. Layer a handful of mojo pork, a slice of cheese, pickles, another slice of cheese, the ham and then the bread. Press together.
Spread the seasoned butter on the outside of the bread.
Heat a cast iron skillet to medium heat.
Grill sandwich on both sides until golden brown and cheese is melted. Cover to help cheese and meat warm more easily.
