pomegranate and blood orange glazed ham
While the honey baked ham is a holiday classic for a reason, may i introduce you to a ham that’s even better? And homemade? So no more wondering what’s actually in the little packet or seasoning if pre-glazed. Not to mention the use of pomegranate and blood orange creates a whole holiday feel that can’t be beat.
Plus, you can now get a spiral cut ham from coleman all natural meats - my favorite place to get any pork product.
Ingredients:
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp grated cinnamon
1/2 tsp grated nutmeg
1/2 tsp grated ginger
zest of 1 blood orange
pre-cooked spiral cut ham
juice of one blood orange
2 Tbsp melted butter
2 Tbsp pomegranate molasses
Directions:
Whisk together dry ingredients.
Let sit overnight.
Remove ham from fridge about 30 minutes before cooking.
Preheat oven to 325.
Add orange juice, butter, and molasses to dry mix, stirring to combine.
Pour glaze all over ham and in between slices.
Cook on middle shelf, cut side down, about 12 minutes per pound - until ham reaches an internal temp of 140.
