viral pickle sandwich
This may be the best food trend of ‘24. Not gonna lie.
I am a huge sandwich fan. Huge.
I’m also a huge pickle fan.
And if you don’t know (and you should) I love a lettuce wrapped burger, hot dog, etc.
So when I caught word that people were using pickles, (pickles!) in lieu of buns for their deli sandwiches… I was all in.
I mean my favorite thing about deli sandwiches is the included dill pickle spear, and the shredded lettuce.
So this one? Yeah… it was an easy yes for me to make my own version. Oh; and also for us to have it now on the regular as an 4:30 appetizer to preclude dinner.
Ingredients:
1 half sour grillos pickle
1 Tbsp mayo
handful shredded lettuce
2 slices of tomatoes
2 slices avocado
1 thin slice red onion
2 salt and vinegar chips
1 slice black forest ham, in strips
Directions:
Cut pickle in half lengthwise and spoon out seeds and inside.
Spread mayo over both sides.
Add lettuce to one side, top with tomato, avocado, onion and chips.
Add cheese, then ham into the other side.
Place halves together. Use toothpicks to hold picklewich together. Cut in half.
