out and about: luce brunch

cucumber gimlet: gin, cucumber, elderflower liqueur, fresh lime juice, simple syrup, float of prosecco

I had the opportunity to grab brunch with one of my kiddos last weekend before our scheduled eye exams. Which is always a treat. I love one-on-one time with any of my kiddos.

I’m currently obsessed with gimlets. Obsessed. So when I saw that they had one (albeit vodka based) I had to try it. Substituting gin of course, since I’m allergic to vodka. This was delish. And I’ve decided that cucumber needs a permanent place in gimlets from now on.

house cut fries: ketchup and ranch

We absolutely had to start out our meal with a shared plate of fries… ‘cause fries. And I love handcut fries. They just hit different.

You can also get them with garlic, parm and truffle. But my charming companion wanted his plain. And who am I to turn down fries, regardless of the toppings.

eggs and bacon: 2 free range eggs any style, thick house cut bacon, potatoes and toast

Eggs and bacon is always a hit. The eggs were scrambled and light and fluffy. The bacon was crispy, but not overcooked. The potatoes were super crispy, yet soft on the inside. Delish.

tuna crab melt: line caught tuna, blue crab, dijon herbed aioli, aged white cheddar, option to add avocado

Tuna melts are my kryptonite. I don’t know why I love them so much, but I do. And you know if there’s a choice to add avocado, I’m taking it (and throwing on tomatoes too).

This was an excellent tuna melt. Absolutely delish. The added tomatoes and avo kicked it up a notch. And can we take a moment to talk about how perfectly the sourdough was toasted? Just the perfect amount of buttery golden crispness.

The side salad was also excellent, with just the right amount of oil and vinegar. There is nothing worse than overdressed salad. And this was not that.

Love we have such a easy spot so close to home, that hits everybody’s want list.
