out and about: stone brewing

cascade brewing: kriek sour ale

great divide strawberry rhubarb: sour

stone laser punch: berliner weisse style ale with guava, mango, blood orange and lime

stone soured be thy name: raspberry sour aged on french oak

If you don’t know that the hubs loves stone ipa, then you haven’t around here very long. But what is also so great about a fantastic local brewery, is when that brewery also has a restaurant (with good food) and a family friendly atmosphere.

So friendly, that we’ve been going with the kiddos since pretty much its inception. Lots of room for them to run amok when there were little, and lots of food choices for them to try as they got older.

I had a chance to sneak in during vacation and try out a few items on the menu, along with tasting some of the seasonal beers on tap.

Personally I’m a big sour, berliner, gose fan, so that’s what I opted for, and my line-up was perfect. I don’t know if I could even pick a fav. I’d have them all again.

stone delicious bavarian pretzel: hand-braided stone delicious IPA pretzel, stone delicious IPA mustard, beer cheese

The pretzel is always a must, a not to be skipped starter. Excellent as always and accompanied with beer cheese and ipa mustard (which btw, you can purchase for home use, and I may or may not have built a whole potato salad around it).

yellowfin ahi poke “nachos”: wonton crisps, marinated cucumbers, scallions, wakame seaweed salad, sriracha mayo, avocado crema

Another not-to-be-missed dish, these ahi nachos are perfect for sharing, or as solo entre. Either way, don’t forget to add them to your order. And, in case you have ahi fanatic children, like I do, you might want to order more than one, or you won’t get any for yourself.

fries

Fries are always a safe bet, but double fried fries are the best and crispiest of the bunch. Totally recommend ordering a side for your party to share, regardless of whatever else you may be eating. Oh, and with a side of ranch too.

prime rib beef dip: slow-cooked prime rib, french onion spread, creamy horseradish, gruyere cheese, crispy fried onions, served on a brioche roll with au jus for dipping

I just love a good french dip. Who doesn’t? What’s there not to like about prime rib? Especially when it’s tender, slathered in horseradish, covered with cheese, and dipped in flavorful au jus? Just saying…
