sangria style spicy apple cider margarita
You might remember the spicy apple cider margarita I waxed poetic about during with the disneyland festival of holidays… and, that naturally I was going to make a sangria style version.
Which I have now done, and can share with you.
In order to make it more consumer friendly, I used jalapeños instead of ghost peppers— you know a la traditional margaritas. I also swapped the raspberry syrup for chambord. And of course fresh apples, raspberries, and limes.
Ingredients:
12 oz raspberries
1 lime, thinly sliced
2 apples, pitted and sliced
1/3 cup lime juice
1/4 cup chambord
1/2 cup jalapeño simple syrup
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
1 jalapeño, sliced, include seeds for extra spicy
sliced jalapeno from simple syrup
1 cup reposado tequila
3 cups apple cider
2 cinnamon sticks
ice
hard apple cider
crispy apple slices
Directions:
Add raspberries, apple slices, and lime slices to large pitcher.
Add simple syrup, jalapeño slices, chambord, and tequila. Stir to combine.
Add apple juice and cinnamon sticks. Stir to combine. Let sit in fridge for 4 - 6 hours before serving.
Before serving, fill glasses with ice. Pour liquid 3/4 of the way full.
Top with hard apple cider and crispy apple slice.
