steve's tuna salad

Food memories. Those are the strongest, no? There are so many solid food memories I have as a child. Steve’s tuna was one of the strongest.

Named steve’s tuna after the contractor that worked with my architect father, after his favorite dish, it was a white sauce based cooked tuna dish served over rice.

I’ve played with the flavors and turned it into a tuna salad of sorts. One that works perfectly over a bed of lettuce, in a sandwich, and even heated in a tuna melt.

This is the steve’s tuna of the 21st century.

Ingredients:

15 oz canned tuna (I prefer wild planet)

1 1/2 cups english peas, shelled and blanched

1 cup minced celery

1/4 tsp celery salt

1 1/2 Tbsp minced white onion

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp white pepper

1/2 cup creme frache

1/2 Tbsp worcestershire sauce

2 Tbsp fresh dill

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and use a fork to combine.
