traditional caprese salad
Can I throw up a little thank you for living in california where we can get fresh tomatoes year round… ‘cause nothing beats a fresh tomato. And tomatoes are always enhanced by the addition of fresh mozzarella and basil.
Ingredients:
2 large heirloom or beefsteak tomato, sliced
8 slices of fresh mozzarella
handful of fresh basil leaves
balsamic vinegar
evoo
sea salt flakes
Directions:
Place tomato slices on plate. Alternate with sliced mozzarella. Sprinkle basil over top. Drizzle a small amount of vinegar and oil over top. Sprinkle sea salt over top.
