sugared cranberries

I don’t think cranberries get enough credit. At least not until the holidays roll around. Then they are pretty much anywhere and everywhere.

These sugared cranberries serve multiple purposes. You can use them as a garnish, you can snack on them, and just think how amazing they will look as part of a charcuterie board. Definitely multiple uses.

Plus, they are just so darn cute.

Instructions:

12 oz package of cranberries, ~ 4 cups

2 cups water

3 cups granulated sugar, divided use

Directions:

Rinse cranberries in cold water, and discard any squishy ones.

Bring water and 2 cups of sugar to a boil. Boil until sugar has completely dissolved.

Remove from heat and add cranberries.

Place heavy plate or strainer over cranberries to submerge them in liquid. Let sit for 30 minutes.

Stir cranberries, resubmerge, and place in fridge.

Let sit in fridge until chilled. 2 or so hours.

Place 1 cup of sugar in a rimmed tray.

Strain cranberries and add to sugar. Shake until cranberries are coated in sugar.

Shake off excess sugar and store coated cranberries until ready to use.
