nuoc cham salad dressing
Nuoc cham is this amazing wonderful vietnamese dipping sauce that is an epic combo of sweet, salty, and umami flavors. While it is fantastic with noodles, or for dipping your spring rolls into, my favorite use of these flavors is as a salad dressing, most specifically? A crispy rice salad topped with my bloody mary marinated tri tip.
My sister in law brought over a similar tasting salad dressing years ago, and i’ve been working on my own flavor profile every since. It’s seriously that good.
You can also totally leave out the sugar for a keto or whole30 diet, and the flavors are still excellent, just without the sweet notes.
Ingredients:
2 tsp sugar
1 1/2 t sambal
juice of 6 limes
1/4 tsp salt
1/3 cup water
1/4 cup red boat fish sauce
Directions:
Combine all ingredients together in pint sized mason jar, tighten lid, and shake until combined.
