Craft house is one of the few places that tempt me when shopping at fashion valley mall. And lets face it, I’m never really tempted to shop (hate it)… but if I have to go, at least I have a yummy lunch or dinner spot to make it all worth it.

Pure project had an ipa on draft while we were there, which was perfect. If you remember, pure project was the featured brewery at one of the playing with fire series we attended. And, as the murky ipa they served was one of jamie’s favorites, it was a no brainer that he was gonna try their west coast ipa. It was definitely a favorite.

The watermelon candy was basically a margarita… and as such, and not liking anything too sweet, I asked to make it spicy. You should do this. It was excellent.

The tuna tostadas were excellent. Fresh clean tasting fish, that was not overpowered by or hiding behind the other ingredients.

I would go to craft house just for this bite. I also appreciated that the aioli leaned into the mexican flavor profile by using chipotle instead of the typical sriracha… totally created this great fusion when combined with the ponzu.

To be honest, I didn’t like the chipotle aioli as much when paired with the tacos, as opposed to the tostadas… don’t know why. The avo-poblano crema on the other hand? I could bathe in it.

And the tacos themselves were delicious… but i still want them doused in the crema. Sorry, not sorry.

No notes. Just a good old fashioned tasty burger. With onion jam! And secret sauce!

It almost makes me want to go shopping. Almost.
