fish sauce slaw

I don’t know about you… but I always want slaw when I bbq. Sometimes on the side of things, sometimes in a burger or on top of a hot dog.

Either way, I want slaw.

It feels like the perfect bbq side.

And, it’s relatively easy to make, in any iteration, with whatever you happen to have on hand.

Plus, I love me some veggies.

Ingredients:

1 oz sesame oil

4 oz rice wine vinegar

1 Tbsp sugar

juice of 2 limes

2 oz fish sauce

1 head cabbage, shredded

1/2 bunch mint, rough chopped

1/2 bunch cilantro, stems removed

1 shallot, thinly sliced

1 cucumber, peeled and diced

2 Tbsp sesame seeds

1 avocado, pitted, peeled, and diced

1/2 cup peanuts

Directions:

In a lidded jar combine oil, vinegar, sugar, lime juice and fish sauce.

Shake to combine.

Add the remaining ingredients to a boil.

Top with dressing, and stir to combine.
