out and about: naples ristorante e bar at downtown disney

Without fail, if we are going to disney, you best believe we will be eating one of our meals at naples. It’s one of our families favorite restaurants, period.

Doesn’t matter who’s going up, they all want to eat there.

naples blush: pom juice, blood orange juice, lemon juice, soda water

Three out four kids will do some sort of italian soda. Typically vanilla flavoring topped with 1/2 and 1/2 and soda water. The fourth? Girlfriend loves a good mocktail anywhere we go. If you remember, she’s also the one who daily creates her own smoothies. It’s all about the fruit juice combos for her.

Naples regularly changes around their drink menu and has different options. This one was so good, she may have asked for all the components so she could make her own.

Not to mention… how pretty is it?!?

tequila mule

Another disney day, another tequila mule. I don’t know why they taste so much better at disney… they just do.

italian bread with balsamic and olive oil

When we started going to naples, way back when, the bread was complimentary. Now you have to order it, if you want it.

And let me tell you, my kids always want it. And we want them to have it, to hold off the hangries that are sure to happen, ‘cause… disney.

I always find it way to dry, so am happy to let them have at it, since they wouldn’t leave any for me, even if I wanted some.

I am excited, because while perusing the menu online (as you do), they’ve update the bread service to specifically ciabatta, and to include the option of rosemary garlic oil as well… we’ll be adding that to the list for next time, for sure.

caprese salad: heirloom tomato, mozzarella, basil, sea salt, extra virgin olive oil (add prosciutto)

I don’t know why we love this particular caprese so much, except to say that the heirloom tomatoes are always beyond phenomenal. So fresh, they taste like they were just picked from my garden.

Oh, and prosciutto.

kids pasta: choice of penne or spaghetti, served with choice of butter, olive oil, tomato sauce or cream sauce (add meatballs or meat sauce)

Inevitably one or more of the kiddos will decide that they are more in the mood for pasta, and will opt to make their own off of the kids menu. This is one of the things I love about disney.

You can always order off the kids menu, it doesn’t matter how old you are, and my kids have long since aged out. But sometimes they just want something basic. And here’s the thing. Disney lets you order adult portions of kid items (obviously for an additional charge) so they get to eat the amount they need to get full, but what they are in the mood for.

And this pasta is perfect, because they can customize however they want.

build your own pizza: fresh mozzarella, tomato sauce

Yet again, customization for the win. Depending on who’s in the mood for what, we’ll either all share a large pizza, or order two individual (their individual pizzas are giant) loaded up with two completely different favors.

More often than not though, you’ll find some combo of extra cheese, olives, sausage, and pepperoni.

The thing is, naples has, hands down, my favorite pizza on the planet. It’s a combo of the crust, the tomato sauce and the fresh cheese. I’m not a big pizza person. It’s never my first choice. Except here. Always here.

And now, I’ve succeeded in making myself sufficiently hungry, and off to see how soon we can schedule our next visit for.
