mint julep 75

I love a good mint julep… and what’s better than a good mint julep? A sparkling mint julep, that’s what.

All the elements of a mint julep, complete with a mint simple syrup, fresh lime juice, and topped with sparkling wine.

Unlike a french 75 it uses bourbon instead of gin and lime instead of lemon, but the construct is the same.

Combined together to make the perfect holiday cocktail.

Ingredients:

4oz bourbon

2oz mint simple syrup

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup water

20 mint leaves, muddled

boil water and sugar until sugar is dissolved, pour over muddled mint and set aside to cool

1 cup brut sparkling wine

Directions:

Add bourbon and simple syrup to two cocktail glasses, stir to combine. Add ice to halfway.

Slowly top with bubbles. Stir gently.
