out and about: brunch at sandpiper

We had the chance to sneak out for a quick brunch (sunday’s only) at sandpiper. We’ve been many times for dinner and/or happy hour, but hadn’t had the chance to try the brunch menu.

Of course, being us, it wasn’t all about the breakfast.

albacore crudo: citrus, fennel, calabrian chili

We had to start with the crudo. Because, crudo.

And considering the sandpiper crudo changes all the time, we hadn’t had this one yet.

The assorted citrus really made a difference. It was fun trying to figure out what all the different segments were. Plus, there really isn’t a better citrus compliment to citrus than fennel.

prime rib california burrito: fries, sour cream, guacamole, cheese, pico de gallo

Let’s face it, the whole reason we came was for this burrito. And it did not disappoint. Not one iota.

Why have I never thought to put prime rib in a burrito… genius move.

It was so perfectly filling, we a) didn’t need anything else and b) nothing else could have topped it anyway.
