out and about: luce
We spent a rainy morning at sea worlds with friends and kiddos. After three hours of braving the rain, riding rides, exploring the rescue center, and watching sea creatures, we called it and headed out to a early (late?) linner.
Luce was the perfect choice. Right off the freeway, so super convenient, it’s a bar and kitchen that had food everyone could enjoy.
Fun fact; the hubs and I always go here on the way to concerts. And, I always start with the french 75. It’s not on the menu, but they make a good one. Just make sure to ask for it chilled.
So naturally, we started with truffle fries. I mean, who doesn’t? In fact, we ordered 3 orders for the 8 of us… and 3 of us had them as a side with their main dishes.
There are fries. And then there are fries, and these are fries not to be missed.
Kids and adults. We all devoured them.
Have you met me?!?! You know I can’t stay away from a good brussel. And, my friends? These are some mighty fine brussels.
Slightly spicy, mostly sweet. Cooked perfectly. Added crunch. Yes, you need these in your life.
So it’s an unwritten rule that when you order brussels, you have to order mussels? You know, for the rhyme. Just me?!? Sorry, not sorry.
But these mussels? So good! Spicy, all from the garlic. But the tomatoes, garlic, and white wine sauce… totally all come together to make this delightful sauce. Different from your typical mussels, because it’s not just a broth. It’s a whole experience. It’s like pasta sauce, if it never needed salsa. And you don’t need anything else. Just the mussels and the sauce. So, so good.
Must go back for mussels asap. See ya there.
