'rimels' green sauce
Raise your hand if you miss rimels? Rimels was a la jolla staple forever. I ate it as a kid. And my kids? Loved it. To the tune of several times a month… it was one of those places where all kids were happy.
And the thing that most of us loved, was drenching everything in their house made “green sauce.” So, when my picky kid, opined out loud that he really missed rimels’ green sauce, I set out to create my own.
Apparently, it was a success, because this kiddo was super hesitant to try it. He’s the one who hates chicken and fish, but loves lobster lumpia and tofu; finds french fries gross, but will eat quinoa by the gross; and eschews most vegetables but eats whole cucumbers like pickles. He also has the worlds best sense of smell. And when he asked to smell my green sauce, and it smelled the same, he took a taste.
And then he proceeded to dump half of the sauce over the rice and steak on his plate and eat it all. So, you don’t have to take my word that it’s the same, but you should definitely take his.
