steak tartare

If there’s tartar on the menu, you better believe we’re ordering it. It’s not even a question. It’s literally the first thing jamie puts in, without even asking. Beef, salmon, tuna, tomato, you name it… we’re eating it.

And, when we really get the craving, we make it at home. It’s so easy to do.

Ingredients:

1 cup minced, raw, tenderloin (filet)

2 tsp worcestershire sauce

1 Tbsp minced cornichons

1 Tbsp minced capers

2 tsp minced shallot

1 Tbsp minced italian parsley

juice of 1/2 lemon

1/2 tsp prepared horseradish

1 tsp dijon mustard

2 tsp grainy mustard (i like maille)

1/2 tsp salt

1 egg yolk

2 tsp minced fennel fronds

Directions:

In a non-reactive bowl, mix all ingredients together until fully combined. Serve immediately.
