quick tip: cooking bacon
Ever since we had kids, breakfast for dinner has been a regular thing. But with four kids and a limited amount of burners, we could only do so much. Two burners for pancakes, one for eggs, one for sautéed spinach, one for potatoes, etc. Where does the sausage go? Where do you cook bacon?
And forget just breakfast… what about when you are making a salad, or pasta, and just need bacon as a cooked ingredient?
Well, the best way to go about it, is to bake your bacon in the oven.
It’s the most foolproof way I’ve ever found to do it. And? Bonus— you don’t get grease all over your stove top.
All you have to do is line a baking tray with tin foil. I like using tin foil instead of parchment, because I find that it works better and browning both sides of the bacon, so you don’t have to flip each piece halfway through.
Separate bacon strips and lay them apart on the tin foil. Place baking tray in the bottom 3/4 of the oven. Turn oven on and preheat to 450.
When the oven reaches 450, turn it off.
Wait 5 minutes and remove pan from oven.
Voila— perfect bacon, no mess.
