rustic guacamole
I love avocados. Living in socal we have access to them all the time (I even have a tree in my backyard), they are a key component in southern california cooking, and they never fail to add depth and flavor to any dish. Eat them plain, with lemon, a dash of salt, or mixed up with other greats to make a guac... it's a super food. To that end? We eat guacamole. A. Lot.
Ingredients:
2 tender avocados, soft enough to smash, but no brown spots
1 vine-ripened tomato, diced
1/2 white onion, minced
juice of 1 lime
2 drops of tabasco
1 pinch of garlic powder
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Using a fork, mash until combined.
This guacamole should be chunky, and not smooth.
